About Flags for Our Heroes

Flags will fly from Memorial Day to Independence Day

Honoring those who serve and inspire us.

Hundreds of flags will fly in honor of our military heroes (deceased, retired, active duty), our first responders (police, firefighters, EMTs), our frontline healthcare workers, teachers, leaders, and family members who serve and inspire us. The display is on the grounds of the Raleigh Elks Lodge at the corner of Lead Mine and Millbrook Roads in Raleigh, NC. The field is visible to passers-by and visitors are welcome to the grounds from Memorial Day Weekend through Independence Day.

Each flag is a full-sized 3 x 5-foot American flag appropriately spaced on the grounds.  Attached to each flagpole is a memorial placard with the name of the hero and the name of their sponsor. These placards will be given to the sponsors at the end of the event.

The President of the Rotary Club of North Raleigh, Russel Reed states, “Our Rotary Club is proud to work with the Raleigh Elks Lodge #735 to produce the Flags for Our Heroes event. Memorial Day is an excellent time of year to begin our display.”
